'Over many years of completing a painting at each class or demonstration - classes twice a week at the ANU continuing education classes, workshops at art societies aound Australia and demonstrations with all the cameras and screens - I have painted hundreds of 'performance' paintings. 

I never repeat a painting although have been asked many times to do so.  There are too many subjects to paint but I do paint in themes - say beach paintings of the same locale.  It does help the painter get a 'handle' on the subject and look at different ways of saying it.   For example I have painted at least a dozen paintings of two girls preparing a prize bull for an agricultural show.   Never painted it again since but it did give me a chance to select the 'best of' to put in an art show at that time.'

Therefore the selected paintings to be found via this page have a couple of versions of a subject so that you can see the different approach to the same scene.  Class participants also seemed to enjoy painting another view of the place as a bit of familiarity can help confident painting even for beginners.  Other wise I have selected paintings that range across the subject matter.  As might be seen from these painting subjects that I like to paint anything and everything.'

The paintings in this selection come from classes at ANU Continuing Education, Queanbeyan Art Society, NGA workshops, Art Societies of Batemans Bay, Kiama, Canberra and Newcastle.  I thank those organisations for having me there to paint this selection. Some of these paintings were done some time ago and have all been sold.
