Reference photo for the June 2009 class -"Trumpets and Teddy". We'll do a portrait format for the painting. 
Tonal drawing to see if composition works - will rely on the final crop of the finished painting 
Outline drawing, masking fluid has been removed after these first washes 
Mid tones, letting warm and cool colours merge
Rewetting paper and applying more darks. Looking for 'lost' edges. 
Background dark painted in one pass to retain transparency 
Tablecloth shadows and background colour- cross angles in the composition 
A bright colour chosen for dungarees with pattern dropped in while wet  A few more darks, bright buttons, croppped, signed and matted - "Trumpets and a Teddy" (now in the collection of Kerry Leigh)
